Having seen the press release stating “The Unrelenting Pursuit of Authenticity in Project CARS 2 is on Display in New “Built by Drivers” Video Series I immediately thought, meh, I thought they nailed it in the first one.
That said the Project CARS franchise is known for its attention to detail. The development team have strived to deliver the most authentic driving experience that could be had, whether you are using a monitor or VR headset. The makers of Project CARS 2  have claimed that their dedication has been taken to new heights through direct game development contributions from some of the motorsports world’s most well-known drivers.

Launching a new monthly series called “Built by Drivers” they will take a deeper look at what contributions real racecar drivers are making to the game – from tuning steering weight to dialing-in tire feel – no detail is too small to be left untouched in Slightly Mad Studios’ vision to create the ultimate racing game.

Check out the first episode in the Project CARS 2 “Built by Drivers” video series:

This first episode shares a behind-the-scenes look at how McLaren’s Chris Goodwin and his team of engineers at McLaren Automotive are working directly with the Slightly Mad Studios team to contribute their knowledge of high-performance engineering into the development of the McLaren 720S supercar in the game.

So after my initial meh, it looks like Project CARS 2 may deliver on its promise of an unparalleled driving simulation experience.

We’ll share more “Built by Drivers” videos in the months leading to launch, so stay tuned!

Project CARS 2 is currently scheduled for a late 2017 launch
